Pakistan Armed Forces Destroy Terrorist Camps, Support Infrastructure in Afghanistan: Security Sources

Islamabad: Pakistan’s armed forces carried out overnight strikes on Friday targeting terrorist and Afghan Taliban facilities inside Afghanistan, destroying several training camps and logistical support structures, security sources said.

According to the sources, the operations were conducted as part of the ongoing Operation Ghazab Lil Haq, which was launched in response to cross-border attacks and security threats originating from Afghan territory.

“Pakistan’s Armed Forces have carried out successful airstrikes inside Afghanistan as part of Operation Ghazab Lil Haq,” security officials confirmed, adding that the strikes targeted key militant installations.

Security sources said the headquarters of the Afghan Taliban’s 313 Corps in Kabul was destroyed during the strikes, along with associated infrastructure and an ammunition depot believed to be used for militant activities.

In Kandahar, Pakistani forces targeted the Tarawo terrorist training camp, also destroying an oil storage facility that was allegedly supporting militant operations.

Meanwhile, another strike hit the Sher-e-Nau terrorist camp in Paktia province, which officials described as a key site used for training and logistical coordination by militant groups.

Security officials further stated that Pakistan’s armed forces successfully shot down three drones operated by Fitna al-Khawarij using electronic warfare capabilities. The term Fitna-al-Khawarij is used by the state for militants linked to the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).

Afghan authorities, cited by TRT World, confirmed that the strikes occurred in Kabul and several border provinces, though details of the damage and casualties remain limited.

The latest development comes as Pakistan continues Operation Ghazab Lil Haq, launched in late February after what officials described as unprovoked firing by Afghan Taliban forces from across the border.

Earlier, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar stated that the operation had inflicted heavy losses on Afghan Taliban forces. According to figures shared by the minister, 527 Afghan Taliban operatives were killed and more than 755 injured, while 237 check posts were destroyed and 38 captured before being demolished.

In a subsequent update earlier this week, Tarar said the number of militants killed had risen to 641, with 243 check posts destroyed during the course of the operation.
