Opposition no more a threat to PTI govt: PM

ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Imran Khan discussed the prevailing political and economic situation with party leaders and team of spokespersons. During the meeting, it was decided that all possible measures would be taken against sugar hoarders and cartels in the country to ensure availability of the commodity at the government’s fixed rate of Rs80 per kg.

Federal Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed and Finance Minister Hammad Azhar were also present in the meeting besides party spokespersons.

“Prime Minister Imran Khan directed us to ignore opposition as opposition is no more a threat to PTI government,” Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid quoted PM Imran Khan as saying. “Prime Minister directed Ministers and party leaders to ensure availability of essential food items at government rate during the holy month of Ramazan”, Interior Minister told reporters during a brief chat after the meeting.

The prime minister directed Finance Minister Hammad Azhar to monitor the situation during Ramazan and report directly to him. Senator Faisal Javed said that prime minister’s focus is common man and “today’s meeting deliberate upon issues concerning common man” and how to provide them relief.

Sugar at fixed rate of Rs80 per kg to be ensured

Faisal said the government would monitor sugar supply right from sugarcane purchase to the processing of sugar in the mills. “Prime Minister would neither strike deal nor would give NRO to anyone”, Faisal Javed said. Prime Minister also directed team of spokespersons to strongly defend success story of the government in the media and keep countering the opposition propaganda. Prime Minister Imran Khan said positive results of the performance of the government would yield in the next two and half years, which would directly benefit common man.

PM, KP Speaker discuss development projects

Speaker Khyber Pukhtunkhwa Assembly Mushtaq Ghani called on Prime Minister Imran Khan here on Monday and discussed matters related to development of the province. The meeting was joined by provincial Minister for Revenue Qalandar Lodhi and Member of National Assembly from Abbottabad Ali Khan Jadoon. The meeting focused on the pace of ongoing development projects in KP. The situation of COVID-19 cases also came under discussion.

PM briefed over Korangi fish harbour

Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday was given a briefing on the upgradation of Korangi Fish Harbor, which was carried out with the financial grant given by the government of Japan.

Minister for Maritime Affairs Syed Ali Haider Zaidi briefed Prime Minister Imran Khan as he called on him here at his office.
