Opposition changes its protest strategy to pull down the government

ISLAMABAD, Nov 11 (Online): Opposition has changed its protest strategy to pull down the government.

Opposition sources said as many as five meetings have taken place between Shahbaz Sharif and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari during the last two days. The only agenda of the meetings was how to oust Imran Khan from the power.

Sources told Online opposition has evolved planning and that how to take forward effective protest inside the parliament and talks on options for in-house change. PPP has proposed that in house change be brought step by step and it should be started from Senate because opposition enjoys majority in Senate. The opposition senators come to 58. They include 6 independent group senators as well. On the other hand government enjoys support of 42 Senators.

Opposition is of the view that establishment will not support the government at present, therefore, vote of no trust against Sadiq Sanjrani will succeed. Vote of no trust be tabled against the speaker National Assembly after their success in NA.

On the other hand the opposition has started making contacts with the government allied parties to isolate them from the government.

A delegation of opposition has met with PML-Q delegation. Opposition delegation comprised Khawaja Saad Rafiq, Khurshid Shah and Shahid Akhtar Ali. PML-Q delegation included Tariq Bashir Cheema and senator kamil Ali Agha.

Opposition delegation requested PML-Q to isolate from the government and not to support the government on electoral reforms bill.

PML-Q delegation said that they have differences with government on diverse matters because government has not consulted them on important legislation. They have given indication to the opposition to continue talks with them.
