Non provision of level playing field case: IHC stops police from harassing PTI supporters

ISLAMABAD, FEB 02 (Online): Islamabad High Court (IHC) has stopped police from harassing PTI supporters.
Petition filed by PTI leader and candidate Ali Bukhari advocate and Shaheen Shoaib regarding non provision of level playing field came up for hearing before single bench of IHC led by Chief Justice (CJ) Aamer Farooq Friday.

The CJ IHC summoned SSP operation and Election Commission (EC) authorities on Tuesday.
CJ IHC Aamer Farooq remarked we call higher authorities and direct them.

The petitioners are senior leaders and senior lawyers of bar.
Shoaib Shaheen and Ali Bukhari had filed petition against hindrances in election campaign.

During the hearing Shoaib Shaheen and Ali Bukhari told the court Police are not refraining from harassing. When our people hold corner meeting then police reach behind them . We have told them we are not Qabza group;.

The CJ IHC inquired tell us to whom I should call. To whom I should issue order.

These two leaders requested SSP be called. Police authorities of Shahzad Town and Rural be summoned. EC authorities be also summoned.

The court summoned EC authorities and SSP operations on Tuesday.

The hearing of the case was adjourned till February 6.
