Non holding election in 90 days challenged

LAHORE, October 02 (Online): Non holding general election in 90 days has been challenged in Lahore High Court (LHC).
The petition has been filed by Judicial Activism Panel making president, Election Commission (EC), federal government and others as respondents.

The petition said as per constitution holding election within 90 days is must. No step has been taken by EC for holding election in 90 days. Time is left far less for conducting election in 90 days after dissolution of assemblies.

The petitioner has requested that court should issue orders for holding election in 90 days.
The court should order president to announce date for election.
