LAHORE, Dec 17 (Online):SAPM for interior and accountability Shahzad Akbar has said Nawaz Sharif is proclaimed offender, therefore, passport cannot be given to him.
“ In UK the criminal is not allowed to be issued visit visa. Shahbaz Sharif has been found guilty of money laundering. As per UK law, visit visa cannot be given to any criminal”, he said this while addressing a press conference here Friday.
Shahzad Akbar held Shahbaz Sharif was chief minister of Punjab during the period of money laundering. Ramzan Sugar Mills got opened account of employees of Ramzan Sugar Mills. It took one year to complete the challan of the case. Banking transaction has nothing to do with sugar business.
He added Ishaq Dar got opened benami accounts.
He went on to say salary of Gulzar Ahmad Khan was Rs 12000. Rs 1.2 billion came into Gulzar Ahmad account. Gulzar Ahmad Khan account continued to run after his death.
These people have admitted that their accounts were opened. They have admitted that cheques were taken back from them after opening the accounts. Sharif family did not cooperate during the investigation by FIA
He underlined opening benami account is crime no matter there is business of sugar.
Shahbaz Sharif is highly trained in money laundering. FIA has completed challan and filed it. It is our desire that result of these cases come out as soon as possible.
He observed Nawaz Sharif is proclaimed offender therefore, the passport cannot be provided to him,. Nawaz Sharif went to London in connection with his treatment but he did not undergo treatment. He got one extension in visa due to coronavirus.
Nawaz Sharif has filed appeal plea for not being given more extension. If extension is not given then he will have to leave UK.
