ISLAMABAD, Nov 18 (APP):The National Commission on the Rights of Child (NCRC) Thursday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Pakistan Institute for Parliamentary Studies (PIPS) and Young Parliamentarians Forum (YPF) on “Legal Framework for Child Rights and Child Protection in Pakistan”.
Chairperson NCRC, Afshan Tehseen, and General Secretary YPF, Uzma Riaz Jadoon has signed a the MoU on conducting advocacy seminars on “Legal Framework for Child Rights and Child Protection in Pakistan” said a press release issued here.
The seminars will aim to highlight the need to deal with the rights and protection issues affecting children, and focus on the available legal and institutional framework to protect children in the country.
The advocacy seminars will be held all through the end of August 2022.
Speaking at the occasion, Uzma Riaz said that the MoU was an important undertaking because it will not only aid young parliamentarians in legislative matters, but it will also give them guidance and oversight on important child rights issues.
The Chairperson NCRC, Afshan Tehseen welcomed the MoU signing and said “we are looking forward to a close and collaborative experience with PIPS and YPS. Ensuring child rights through legislative mechanisms is one of the most robust means to deliver child protection and safety.”
