Islamabad, April 21 (Online): National Assembly has formally notified the Supreme Court Practice and Procedure Bill as a regular law.
In this regard, the National Assembly Secretariat has ordered a gazette notification to the Printing Corporation. After the completion of all the stages of approval of the bill, the National Assembly Secretariat issued a formal notification.
According to the sources of the National Assembly Secretariat, the Supreme Court Practice and Procedure Bill has now been implemented in the form of law.
Under the law, the Chief Justice of Pakistan will no longer be able to take notice of him. A committee consisting of three senior judges will be formed for suo moto notice.
An appeal against the decision of the suo moto notice will be possible. A five-judge bench will hear the constitutional petition.
According to the officials, the National Assembly Secretariat has fulfilled the legal requirements and sent it for the gazette.
It is pertinent to mention here that President had sent back this bill for the second time without signature, and the Apex Court had stopped implementation on the bill.
