ISLAMABAD – February 8 (ONLINE): Chairman of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Justice retired Javed Iqbal said Tuesday that performance of country’s top anti-graft body must be analyzed without any discrimination.
Addressing a ceremony in Islamabad, the NAB chief said institutions like
PILDAT, Amnesty International (AI), and Gallup were talking high of NAB’s efficiency. He said his team was working for improvements in anti-corruption body and tangible change would be brought with the passage of time.
“FATF restrictions on Pakistan have some political causes” he said, maintaining that he was unaware of timeline of these restrictions.
NAB Chairman said that corrupt elements looted common man in the name of housing societies. Talking about a specific case, Justice ret Javed Iqbal said more than two billion rupees were recovered from person named ‘Lucky Ali’. “When he (Ali) was called-up, he suggested a ‘mid-way” chairman NAB told participants. He said that amount recovered in this specific case will be returned back to effected.
