ISLAMABAD, Sep 04 (Online): Former minister of planning Ahsan Iqbal has said Ministry of commerce held by former minister Naveed Qamar gave permission to export sugar.
Expressing his views in a private TV program he placed the responsibility of exporting sugar on Naveed Qamar saying previous government was coalition government. Therefore, only PML-N cannot bear the responsibility of this entire matter.
Giving proposal Ahsan Iqbal said there is need to break smuggling, cartelization and mafia.
The price of sugar reached the new highest level and it is being sold at Rs 190 per kilogram in different cities. The price of sugar rose by Rs 18 per kilogram within a week.
The citizens of Quetta are compelled to buy sugar at the rate of Rs 190 per kilogram.
