ISLAMABAD – January 25 (ONLINE): Spokesperson of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) Maryum Aurangzeb on Tuesday suggested Prime Minister Imran Khan to address nation, this time on Transparency International (TI) report, which revealed Pakistan’s corruption index Tuesday.
Pakistan has slipped further in Transparency International’s latest Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI 2021), with the Opposition berating the Imran Khan-led government and demanding the prime minister’s resignation.
Pakistan’s rank has fallen 16 places to 140 from 124 out of 180 countries, Transparency International’s report showed Tuesday. In CPI 2021, Pakistan scored 28 out of 100.
PML-N Spokesperson Maryum Aurangzeb said Tuesday that government’s financial malpractices had worsened Pakistan’s position in the latest Corruption Perception Index (CPI).
She said that medicine, sugar and basic commodities of life had gone out of poor’s buying power now. “You will be jailed instead of going into streets” she told Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Reacting to the TI report, Maryum said that current government had completely failed in bringing prosperity and development to the nation. Instead of introducing new projects, government was busy ruining previous government’s policies, she said.
