LAHORE – Pakistan Muslim League PML-N vice president Maryam Nawaz and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Sunday decided to suspend political activities for some days due to fever.
Former Information Minister and PML-N spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb Sunday said that Maryam Nawaz had “high fever and throat pain.” The PML-N vice president has been advised by doctors to take rest, she added.
Maryam’s political secretary Zeeshan Malik claimed that her test result for the novel coronavirus was negative. “Maryam Nawaz went to the Lahore High Court (LHC) despite being unwell,” Aurangzeb said in a statement shared by the party’s Twitter account on Sunday.
On the other hand, Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has been suffering from a fever for the past two days, JUI-F sources said on Sunday. “He is currently at his Dera Ismail Khan residence.”
According to party sources, the JUI-F chief had got himself tested for coronavirus and the result was negative. “Maulana Fazlur Rehman has suspended political activities as he is unwell,” said sources. “Doctors have advised him to rest.”
