ISLAMABAD, March 02 (Online): Additional Judge Tahir Abbas Sipra has acquitted Lt Gen (Retd) Amjid Shoaib from case with honor.
At the inception of hearing of case against Amjid Shoaib, his counsel Mian Ishfaq appeared in the court Thursday.
Mian Ishfaq argued that no public servant has filed application for registration of case against Amjid Shoaib. The case cannot be made on the words of Amjid Shoaib. This case is bogus. He did not talk against any community. We accept it what he has said in program. If we are invited again we will again say this thing therein. There are 6 lac military officers in Paksitan and the government employees run into millions. Has anyone among the millions of government employees lodged complaint with you that they have been affected by this statement. How big tragedy it is that a camera has been installed in the jail room of a former army general.
Such a mean interpretation has not been made by millions of government employees what Owais Khan has made. My words are not so hard what the attitude of government is. The entire wailing was about election karao.
Amjid Shoaib said while addressing the judge “ I have always opposed dharnas and long march. I always say has dharna or long march ever pulled down government. I have never met any political leader.
The court remarked we see today too in our FIR word lalkara is used. Was this not your lalkara on the basis of which advice was given?
The counsel for Amjid Shoaib requested the court to discharge his client. Amjid Shoaib is patriotic and respected citizen of this country.
The court acquitted Amjid Shoaib with honor on completion of the arguments.
Additional Sessions judge Tahir Abbas Sipra ordered to release Amjid Shoaib forthwith.
