LHC summons arguments on maintainability of contempt of court plea against Maryam Nawaz

LAHORE, April 03 (Online): Lahore High Court (LHC) has summoned arguments on the maintainability of contempt of court petition against Maryam Nawaz PML-N senior leader and daughter of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif.

The contempt of court plea came up for hearing before single bench of LHC led by Justice Baqir Najfi here Monday.

The petitioner took the plea Maryam Nawaz committed contempt of court during her public meeting in Sargodha.

Justice Baqir Najfi remarked during the hearing of the case how this petition is maintainable. Appeal is not filed following the rejection of petition. We have to work as per law.

The court called the arguments on the maintainability of the petition, gave time to the counsel for preparation of the case and adjourned the hearing of the case till April 5.
