LHC orders to transfer all cases of rape, death and violence to FIA

LAHORE, MAY 31 (ONLINE): Lahore High Court (LHC) has ordered to transfer all cases of violence, deaths and rape to FIA. Justice Ali Zia Bajwa of LHC issued 17-page written order. The petition was filed by Surriya Bibi.
Mian Ali Haider advocate assisted the court.

It was said in the written decision that immediate implementation of custodial death and prevention of violence related act-2022 be ensured.FIA wields special powers regarding investigation in connection with this act. Therefore, police is directed to avoid from becoming involved in these matters.

According to decision subjecting any accused to any kind of violence to obtain confession of any crime or evidence is strictly prohibited. The matter of implementation of act-2022 be brought to the notice of chief minister Punjab formally. This matter be presented to federal minister , ministry of interior and government of Pakistan through federal secretary interior. Fast implementation of act-2022 be ensured. Further delay in implementation has to be stopped.

As per court orders, a copy of decision be sent to chairperson National Human Rights Commission of Pakistan and director general of agency. Any complaint about violence in police custody, death or rape be sent to agency forthwith.
