LAHORE, SEP 06 (ONLINE): Lahore High Court (LHC) has given 13 days to IG Punjab in connection with recovery of senior journalist and anchor person Imran Riaz.
The petition filed by father of Imran Riaz came up for hearing before Chief Justice (CJ) LHC Justice Muhammad Amir Bhatti Wednesday.
IG Punjab Dr Usman Anwar and other senior officers appeared before the court during the hearing of the case.
IG police Punjab told the court much positive headway has been made in connection with the recovery of Imran Riaz. We will give you good news within next 10 or 15 days. It is requested court should give us time.
The CJ LHC inquired more time is being sought.
IG Punjab requested that ” we should be given time of 10 days more. We will give good news.
The CJ LHC Muhammad Amir Bhatti remarked there should be some progress.
The counsel for Imran Riaz said during the hearing of the case IG Punjab should give time for one hour meeting.
The CJ LHC while directing IG Punjab to hold meeting with father of Imran Riaz and legal team at 5 pm adjourned the hearing of the case.
