LAHORE, MARCH 18 (ONLINE): Lahore High Court (LHC) has directed chief secretary Punjab to constitute a committee on the petition seeking high level investigation into sexual harassment in educational institutions.
The case regarding sexual harassment in educational institutions came up for hearing before a three members bench of LHC presided over by Chief Justice Aalia Neelum Tuesday.
The court wrapped up the matter referring it to chief secretary Punjab.
CJ LHC Justice Aalia Neelum directed chief secretary to constitute the committee to conduct investigation.
CJ LHC Aalia Neelum remarked there is a lot of difference between what says police and documents.
The court inquired what are the FIRs of the case. Was statement of affected girl student included.
The state counsel told the court the statement of the girl student was recorded who had said that she was not sexually abused.
The court inquired why the investigation officer has not recorded statement under 164,
SSP Investigation told the court we constituted JIT in this case and JIT completed investigation. The girl did not want to come to fore.
The counsel for the federal government took the stance case was registered against 4 persons including lady Sara for uploading false video.
The CJ LHC remarked had the relevant institutions taken action the ambiguity would not have been created.
The petition said women are insecure in educational institutions. Sexual harassment and violence related incidents are on rise. A high level inquiry into growing incidents of harassment in educational institutions in Lahore be got conducted. Safety protocol related to safety of girl students be implemented.
