KP cabinet stands dissolved, all powers of deceased CM go to governor: Former secretary EC

ISLAMABAD, Nov 11 (Online): Former secretary Election Commission (EC) Kanwar Dilshad has said all the powers have gone to governor following the death of caretaker Chief Minister (CM) KP Azam Khan.

Talking to a private TV channel he said provincial cabinet is linked to chief minister. Following the death of KP CM Azam Khan KP cabinet stands dissolved automatically.
He went on to say that the governor will hold the matters of province unless new CM is appointed.

He stressed article 244 of the senate empowers Senate for making decisions in emergency situation.

A 6 members committee comprising 3 members each from government and opposition will be constituted. It will together select new CM. If name of new CM is not agreed upon then the matter will be referred to Election Commission (EC). Decision in this regard will be made by EC within 48 hours.
