Khaqan bashes NAB

Islamabad – January 4 (ONLINE): Former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has alleged Chairman of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) of ‘working on daily wages’ and said that the chairman of corruption watchdog had illegally occupied his seat.

Talking to reporters after appearing before the Accountability Court, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said chairman NAB and the government were not ‘ashamed of their conduct’.

“We say that proceedings of our corruption cases should be shown live on TV so that the nation knows who is right and who is wrong” Former PM demanded, adding that the immunity of NAB chairman and his team will come to an end.

He said that NAB chairman and officials will have to answer for their injustice done to the PML-N leadership.

Talking about government’s claim of reducing down inflation, Shahid Khaqan said prices were falling globally. “The budget was presented six months ago. There is no one to answer the question about Pakistan’s sovereignty. The State Bank has been handed over to IMF” he said.

Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said that the Speaker of National Assembly was not aware of the parliamentary traditions. He said that government had increased the number of total loans taken by previous governments by 50%.
