KBC challenges 26th constitutional amendment in SC

ISLAMABAD, DEC 26 (ONLINE): Karachi Bar Council (KBC) has challenged 26th constitutional amendment in Supreme Court.
KBC through the petition has prayed SC to nullify 26th constitutional amendment.

KBC filed the petition through counsel Faisal Siddiqui.

All the four provinces, federal government, election commission, speaker national assembly and Senate have been made respondents in the petition.

The petitioner has taken the plea that the constitutional benches constituted under 26th constitutional amendment and their decisions be also revoked. 26th constitutional amendment runs contrary to basic principles of independence of judiciary. This is against the basic rights as well.
