KARACHI, APRIL 07 (ONLINE): Karachi district East court has granted bail to journalist Farhan Malik who was arrested in anti state program case.
The bail plea of journalist Farhan Malik came up for hearing in district East Karachi court.
The court approved bail plea of Farhan Malik against surety bonds in the sum of Rs one lac.
It is pertinent to mention here FIA Cyber Crime Karachi had arrested Farhan Malik founder of Ditgital Media Platform Raftaar and former director News on March 20.
Inquiry was underway against Farhan Malik since the last three months. He is charged with uploading anti state and anti institutions material.
A case pertaining to alleged anti state material on his U-Tube channel was registered under PEC act and Pakistan Penal code.
Later Judicial magistrate Malir on March 26 had handed over Farhan Malik to FIA on physical remand for five days in new case of fraud with foreigners allegedly through call centre.
Earlier Judicial magistrate East had rejected bail plea of journalist Farhan Malik.
Following the rejection of his bail plea by judicial magistrate the accused filed his bail plea through his counsel with district and Sessions judge East.
The petitioner prayed the court to nullify the order of magistrate and release him on bail.
District Court Karachi had issued notice to FIA on bail plea of Farhan Malik in previous week.
According to March 20 FIR, a report was received by FIA related to U-Tube channel of RAFTAAR TV that anti state campaign was being run through videos.
Case was registered against Farhan Malik, Founder of RAFTAAR TV under section 16, 20, 500 and 109 of Pakistan Penal Code and section 26-A of PECA act.
