JC summoned for appointment of judges in superior judiciary

ISLAMABAD, JAN 03 (ONLINE): Meeting of Judicial Commission (JC) has been called in connection with appointment of judges in superior judiciary.
Meeting of JC has been summoned on January 17 for appointment of judges in Islamabad and Balochistan high court.
Meeting of JC for appointment of additional judges in Sindh High Court (SHC), Peshawar High Court (PHC) and Lahore High Court (LHC) will be held on January 23, February 1 and February 6 respectively.
Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Yahya Afridi will preside over the meeting of JC.
Justice Mansoor Ali Shah, other senior judges and other members of commission will attend the meeting.

Nomination of 4 additional judges in Islamabad High Court, 12 additional judges in SHC, 10 additional judges in LHC, 9 additional judges in PHC and 3 additional judges in Balochistan High Court will come under consideration.
Nominations have been sent to JC on the matter of appointment of 38 judges in 5 high courts of the country.
