Islamabad High Court wraps up petition seeking removal of Hanif Abbasi from post of SAPM

ISLAMABAD, JUJNE 03 (ONLINE): Islamabad High Court (IHC) has wrapped up petition seeking removal of Hanif Abbasi from post of Special Assistant to Prime Minister (SAPM) being infructuous.

A single bench of IHC led by Chief Justice (CJ) Athar Minallah disposed of the petition filed against PML-N leader Hanif Abbasi being infructuous.

During the hearing of the petition the resignation of SAPM Hanif Abbasi was presented in the court.

The counsel for Hanif Abbasi told the court the petition has become infrutuous following the resignation by Hanif Abbasi.

Sheikh Rashid had challenged notification regarding induction of Hanfi Abbasi as Special Assistant to Prime Minister (SAPM). It was said in the petition that Hanif Abbasi is convicted in ephedrine quota case. His sentence has been suspended and not abolished.

The court had directed Prime Minister to review the appointment of Hanif Abbasi in the perspective of this petition.
