ISLAMABAD, March 09 (Online): Election Commission (EC) has decided to issue notice to newly elected senator Ishaq Dar from PML-N on a petition seeking his disqualification.
The petition seeking disqualification of Ishaq Dar came up for hearing before a bench of EC presided over by Chief Election Commissioner on Wednesday.
The petitioner Azhar Siddique while giving arguments before the commission said I had requested chairman Senate on several occasions for sending reference against Ishaq Dar.
In Chairman PTV appointment case, Supreme Court had ordered to recover 20 percent of 190 million rupees and this amount has not been received from him so far.
The EC decided to issue notice to Ishaq Dar on this matter.
The petitioner said one notice should be sent through foreign office and Pakistan embassy.
Chief Election Commissioner said one notice will be sent to Ishaq Dar abroad.
