Intra party election: EC gives time to PTI for filing documents till April 22

ISLAMABAD, APRIL 08 (ONLINE): Election Commission while accepting PIT plea has given time to PTI for filing documents till April 22 in PTI intra party election case.

A five members bench presided over by Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) took up PTI intra party election case for hearing Tuesday.

Barrister Gohar Ali Khan on behalf of PTI and petitioner Akbar S Babar appeared before EC.

CEC while addressing barrister Gohar Ali Khan said you were to give arguments today.

This case is pending since one year. It is correct that high court forbade from giving decision but it did not restrain from conducting proceedings.

Barrister Gohar said ” I have presented details of high court decision. It is my request that time be given for arguments because I am not having some documents at present.

CEC said come prepared on next hearing.

The hearing of the case was adjourned till April 22.

Later talking to media men Barrister Gohar said there was hearing of intra party election case in EC and this matter is pending hearing before 5-member bench of LHC. EC had sought details of high court case.

He said we want case moves forward and it is decided. Audio video evidences were filed with EC. We submitted application in the court that our data be provided to us. FIA had taken away our data.

Akbar S Babar said while talking to media men that case is being prolonged. On one side stay has been obtained from high court and on other side case is being stopped here. Workers rights are being affected and case is being stopped.
