MARDAN, August 12, 2022 (Online): Former prime minister Imran Khan has submitted a nomination paper for NA-22 Mardan-III for the by election which fell vacant after the national assembly speaker accepted the resignation of former federal minister Ali Mohammad Khan here on Friday.
Former federal minister Ali Mohammad Khan, member provincial assembly Iftikhar Ali Mashwani along with other PTI lawmakers and local leaders submitted the nomination paper for former Prime Minister Imran Khan in the district election commissioner Zia-ur-Reham officer. Former federal minister Ali Mohammad Khan was covering candidate with Imran Khan.
Member provincial assembly Iftikhar Ali Mashwani was proposer and Adil Nawaz was seconder of Imran Khan in the nomination paper.
Large numbers of PTI elected members and local leaders reached the district election commissioner office in the shape of a procession and submitted the nomination paper for former Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Talking to the media MPA Iftikhar Ali Mashwani claimed that Imran Khan will win the by-election on NA -22 with a huge margin. It may be noted that in the 2018 general election former federal minister Ali Mohammad Khan won this seat securing 58577 votes while JUI-F candidate Maulana Mohammad Qasim secured 56318 votes. Ali Mohammad Khan won this seat with the morgan of 2262 votes.
JUI-F has also allotted ticket to Mualana Mohammad Qasim for the by-election.
