ISLAMABAD – Minister for Narcotics Control Brig (Retd) Ijaz Ahmad Shah on Tuesday directed the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) to provide professional training facilities to those drug addicts who were being rehabilitated under a plan.
During his visit to Model Addicts Treatment & Rehabilitation Centre (MATRC) in Rawalpindi, Ijaz Shah also said that it was of utmost importance to create awareness among youth about the harmful effects of drugs.
“We have to ensure safe and drug-free environment for our next generations,” he said. He directed that further facilities should be provided to those drug-addicts who were being rehabilitated. He said the government was determined to establish more rehabilitation centres in different parts of the country.
Ijaz Shah said the government would take every step for the rehabilitation of those people who had become victims of the drugs. He said the government and departments concerned should ensure that those who had been rehabilitated would not again become victim to the menace. “Their regular check-up should continue after the rehabilitation.”
