IHC suspends KP minister’s disqualification by ECP

ISLAMABAD – February 9 (ONLINE): The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday suspended Election Commission of Pakistan’s (ECP) decision to disqualify Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) Minister for Transport Shah Muhammad Khan Wazir.

Earlier on February 1, ECP had disqualified KP Transport Minister Shah Mohammad Khan Wazir for attacking polling stations in Bakakhel during the first phase of local bodies’ elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

On Wednesday while hearing Wazir’s plea against disqualification, the Islamabad High Court issued notices to parties to the case. IHC Chief Justice (CJ) Athar Minallah adjourned hearing of the case until Friday, February 11.
