IHC seeks report on early construction of Lawyers complex, provision of funds

ISLAMABAD, Dec 01 (Online): Islamabad High Court (IHC) has sought report on early construction of lawyers complex and provision of funds on next hearing.

The case came up for hearing before the Chief Justice (CJ) IHC Aamer Farooq Thursday.
The CJ IHC remarked tendering about construction of complex has been made . Work should not be done only verbally but it should be implemented. All the documents regarding the construction of complex be filed.

Deputy Attorney General (DAG) requested the court the chairman CDA be summoned on next hearing and things would become clear.

The court remarked we are just summoning the documents. Chairman will also be summoned if needed.

The officer of law ministry was also present there under the orders of court. DAG, counsel for CDA Nazir Jawad and president district bar also appeared in the court.

DAG told the court CDA has to sponsor fund. We have been holding meetings. We kept on asking from CDA. When CDA completes its work we will send summary to federal government.

Earlier the then CJ Athar Minallah had summoned a meeting. All including CDA, Planning, and law ministry were present in the meeting.

The CJ IHC while addressing CDA remarked the work be done speedily. The work will be delayed if you wait for money this way.

The counsel for CDA told the court no matter if payment is made to us in installment. We will start work. We all have to complete this project within a year.

The court adjourned the hearing of the case till December 08.
