IHC reserves judgment on the PTI petition for NOC, permission in connection with its public meeting

ISLAMABAD, November 03 (ONLINE): Islamabad High Court (IHC) has reserved judgment on the petition seeking permission and NOC for PTI public meeting after hearing the arguments of lawyers of respondents.

The court remarked we will issue appropriate order.

The case came up for hearing before a single bench of IHC led by Justice Amir Farooq Thursday.

PTI lawyer Babar Awan, advocate general Islamabad, barrister Jahangir Jadoon and deputy commissioner Islamabad appeared in the court.

The court inquired is it SC order.

Barrister Jahangir Jadoon told the court this is reply of PTI chairman Imran Khan which was filed in SC. Despite providing venue for dharna and public meeting last time, the limits were crossed. This should be asked from them when they would come to Islamabad.
The court remarked we ask this from Babar Awan that when they are coming to Islamabad.
Babar Awan told the court they have shut the whole city by placing containers. While they have converted half city into red zone.

The court inquired you can see it wherever the place is. Who will be responsible for violation? There is an order of SC too. The contempt of court case is running therein. What is procedure for granting permission to hold public meetings generally.

Advocate general told the court it happens so that assurance is given with the permission of party. What rally they had staged had caused suffering. Police men were injured.

The court remarked whatever the lawyer talks he says this on behalf of client. Is this the same venue for which they had sought permission earlier.

The advocate general told the court yes they are seeking permission for the same venue. But they have always breached terms and conditions. We do not trust them. The assurance given by two senior lawyers was refused to be accepted by party leadership. We have reserved T chowk venue for this purpose. They can hold public meeting if they will so.

Dr Awan told the court Ali Awan has filed this petition and he is responsible for it. The matter which is sub-judice in SC should not have been talked of. Neither am I talking about it. T chowk is GT road. The areas which were red zone have been extended by them.

The court inquired what they say that it will not happen on the venue which they provide you what had happened earlier. . Who will take its responsibility.

Dr Babar Awan told the court Ali Awan is from party and party will take its responsibility.

Jahangir Jadoon told the court we cannot trust them as long as contact is not made with chairman PTI. Affidavit should bear the signatures of PTI Chairman. Our man will go to him.

The court remarked you said here the date is 6 or 7 and then said something other with reference to date.

Advocate general told the court now they are saying too they will stay till 10 months.

The court reserved judgment after hearing the arguments from the lawyers of respondents.
