ISLAMABAD, JAN 06 (ONLINE): Islamabad High Court (IHC) while rejecting the bail plea of a lady Shaheen Akhtar 65 arrested in drugs case has ordered Anti Narcotics Court (ANC) to complete the trial of the case within 8 months.
It has been said in written order issued on Monday that challan has been presented. Trial can be completed soon. Bail plea is rejected.
Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kiyani of IHC issued written order for rejecting bail plea of Shaheen Akhtar.
Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) had arrested accused Shaheen Akhtar while she was taking 9.6 kilogam charas to Peshawar.
According to ANF charas was recovered from the accused during search of passenger van on secret information.
It has been further said in the decision that she is accused. The counsel requested the court to grant bail due to old age and bad health.
According to the counsel accused is admitted into hospital for her treatment due to bad health.
Special prosecutor of ANF opposed bail plea of the accused .
ANF presented video recording regarding recovery of charas from the accused in the court.
The result of chemical review came positive which was done within 72 hours. The challan of the case has been filed in the court on October 10.
As per medical report the accused is not suffering from any fatal disease. Her treatment is underway. Her treatment can be continued during her detention.
