IHC indicts DC, Islamabad, SSP operations others in contempt of court case

ISLAMABAD, SEP 07 (ONLINE): Islamabad High Court (IHC) has indicted DC Islamabad, Irfan Nawaz Memon, SSP operations Jamil Zafar and other accused persons in contempt of court case.

The court rejected the unconditional apology of the accused.
The contempt of court case on arresting Shahryar Afridi and Shandana Gulzar Khan despite court’s orders came up for hearing before single bench of IHC led by Justice Babar Sattar Thursday.

During the hearing of the case deputy commissioner Islamabad, SSP operations Jamil Zafar and other accused tendered unconditional apology.

Advocate General (AG) Islamabad took the plea the officers have tendered unconditional apology. They should not be indicted.

The court remarked how we should not indict them. Contempt of court matter was running here and you kept on issuing MPO order.

Justice Babar Sattar while addressing the officers remarked if you are punished then the maximum sentence will be jail sentence. This is sentence of 6 months. You may also live in jail and see how they live there whom you send to jail.

The court while rejecting the unconditional apology of officers indicted deputy commissioner Islamabad Irfan Nawaz Memon, SSP operations Jamil Zafar, SP Farooq Buttar and other accused persons.

All the accused pleaded not guilty.

The court adjourned the hearing of the case on completion of proceeding of indictment.
