ISLAMABAD, January o4 (Online): Islamabad High Court (IHC) election tribunal while declaring the Returning Officer (RO) observation about “Sadiq and Ameen” as expunged has wrapped up the petition.
Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir of Election Tribunal (ET) of IHC issued this order Thursday.
Chaudhry Ishtiaq Mehrban filed his nomination papers from two constituencies.
The counsel for the petitioner took the plea Chaudhry Ishtiaq Mehrban holds dual nationality of Canada. RO had no powers to give observation on the matter of Sadiq and Ameen.
The defence counsel requested the tribunal to declare the RO’s observation as expunged. We don’t want to contest election.
The court while declaring RO’s observation related to Sadiq and Ameen as expunged wrapped up the petition.
