IHC drops illicit relations case against PTI founder, Bushra Bibi

ISLAMABAD, Jan 17 (Online): Islamabad court has abolished illicit relations case against PTI founder Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi .

Further hearing of Nikah during iddat case will take place on January 18.
Nikah during iddat case in respect of Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi came up for hearing before district and sessions Court.

Judicial magistrate Qudrat Ullah dropped the case of the charges related to section 496-B.
The court remarked two witnesses are required legally in section 496-B. There is only one here. Court is dropping charge to the extent of 496-B.

Only charge of 496 is imposed on PTI founder and Bushra Bibi. PTI founder and Bushra Bibi have been indicted only to the extent of nikah during iddat period. The court has summoned prosecution witnesses on January 18.

It is pertinent to mention here that Khawar Manika former husband of Bushra Bibi had alleged that Imran Khan had made contacts with Bushra Bibi in the perspective of peeri, mureedi and both had established illicit relations with the passage of time. Due to these illicit relations he had divorced Bushra Bibi in November 2017. PTI founder solemnized nikah with Bushra Bibi during iddat.

Latif domestic servant of Khawar Manika had leveled allegations of incidents related to 6 years previous period against PTI founder and Bushra Bibi.

The hearings of nikah case had started on the charges leveled by Khawar Manika. In connection with hearing of the case, Imran Khan was contacted through video link in Jail. The court had summoned Bushra Bibi in person.
