IHC dismisses contempt of court plea against Maryam Nawaz, Rana Sana Ullah, Maulana Fazl others

ISLAMABAD, Aug 26 (Online): Islamabad High Court (IHC) has dismissed the contempt of court plea against Maryam Nawaz, Rana Sana Ullah , Maulana Fazlur Rehman and other PDM leaders for making insulting remarks against judiciary statements.

The court declared the petition non maintainable. The court upheld the objection raised by the registrar office that IHC is not proper forum to file the petition.

The court inquired from the counsel of petitioner what is his petition.

Naeem Haider Panjotha the counsel for the petitioner said these leaders had given different statements against the judiciary on social media.

Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kiyani inquired has any mention been made in respect of IHC in the remarks.

The court while addressing counsel for the petitioner Ali Ijaz remarked “ you should go to Supreme Court and Lahore High Court.

Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kiayani remarked the petitioner is from Lahore and why he likes this place. Say to petitioner there are courts in Lahore too. When these statements were given then nothing assailed some one ear.

The court dismissed contempt of court plea.
