I am not, cannot be replacement of Imran Khan: Asad Umar

ISLAMABAD, Jan 20 (Online): Minister for planning Asad Umar has said he is not and cannot be substitute of Imran Khan as PML-N vote bank is due to Nawaz Sharif and PTI vote bank is Imran Khan Vote bank.

“The media reports about government packing home are nothing except raising a storm in a cup of tea. Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan will complete his constitutional tenure. PPP and PML-N are family parties. Inflations has not only hit Pakistan but also it is at international level” he said this in an exclusive interview with a private TV channel here Thursday,

In PML-N vote bank is only of Nawaz Sharif and in PTI vote bank is only of Imran Khan, he underlined.
In parliamentary system there is no guarantee for any government, he remarked. PDM first movement proved a storm in the cup of tea. Endeavors are under way to bring back the storm to cup.

He went on to say Nawaz Sharif is disqualified and is outside the country but he knows PML-N is of Nawaz Sharif party. Shahbaz Sharif who is in Pakistan too knows it.

Had Imran Khan been not in politics he would not have joined politics, he observed. No one can raise question on leadership of Imran Khan in PTI, he added. I have seen no such case wherein the leadership of Imran Khan has been challenged.

Citing to KP local bodies polls he said PTI bagged votes more than any party in KP in these elections. PTI won more Tehsil level elections than PPP, PML-N and ANP. These three parties have formed the government in KP in the past.

PTI could not get such results in Local bodies elections which voters and workers were expecting, he stated. The candidate who won mayor Peshawar election polled 61000 votes while Shaukat Ali MNA from Peshawar polled 97000 votes.

There is restlessness among the people due to inflation, he underscored. The rival parties vote bank too could not swell due to price hike.

There will be neck to neck competition in Local body polls in Punjab, he remarked.
