History made in Punjab by-elections: Babar Awan

ISLAMABAD – July 18 (ONLINE) PTI leader Babar Awan while reacting to party’s astonishing victory in Punjab Assembly (PA) by-polls said Monday that history was made by the people of province.

The PTI won 15 seats out of 20 PA seats on Sunday, according to unofficial results, while the ruling PDM’ coalition bagged only 4.

Babar Awan, however on Monday showed some reservations on Election Commission of Pakistan’s (ECP) and province’s administration’s role during the by-elections.

“For the first time in human history, 4 million dead people were shown alive,” he said, adding that “PML-N and its allies had opposed Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs)”.

Talking about the unofficial results of Rawalpindi’s PP-7, which were up-held by the ECP later on Sunday, Awan expressed his concerns about ‘political engineering at very last moment’ with constituency’s results.

“Lahore High Court’s judgment is crystal clear. Any rigging will be tantamount to contempt of court,” he added.
