ISLAMABAD, FEB 11 (ONLINE): Damages case of Rs 10 billion filed by PTI chairman Imran Khan against Khawaja Asif was heard in district court of Additional Sessions Judge Umeed Ali here Saturday.
Imran Khan appeared in the court through video link.
Imran Khan said it is correct that investment of 3 million dollars was made in 2008 and the amount which was invested was returned to Shaukat Khanum hospital in 2015. The amount of 3 million dollars remained with HBG for seven years. Imtiaz Haidri is its chief executive. Imtiaz Haidri was included in the committee which approved amount of 3 million dollars for investment. Imtiaz Haidri has not approved 3 million dollars investment for his personal benefit.
He further said I don’t know Imtiaz Haidri was either PTI donor or not. Several overseas Pakistanis make donations for Shaukat Khanum hospital. I have not misled the court about the character of Imtiaz Haidri.I donot remember who is Sheikh Salim Al Mashani .
Counsel for Khawaja Asif said you have mentioned name of Sheikh Salim Al Mashani in the notice for damage case. He lives in Oman and is partner of Imtiaz Haidri.
Imran Khan replied I don’t know about the project of Oman. The board of governors of hospital accorded approval. I don’t know how much investment was made. I don’t know what is going on in Oman project; I don’t know when Endowment Fund board was constituted. I only know Endowment Fund board was constituted in decade of 90.
Counsel for Khawaja Asif said Imran Khan Sahb you had said in the meeting of board of governors in 2015 endowment fund board has not been constituted so far.
Additional Sessions Judge Umeed Ali adjourned the hearing of the case till March 04.
