ISLAMABAD, OCT 31 (ONLINE): Islamabad High Court (IHC) has issued notice to respondents besides seeking reply from them on the matter of government deadline on evacuation of foreigners residing illegally in Pakistan.
Petition of an Afghan citizen came up for hearing before single bench of IHC led by Chief Justice (CJ) IHC Aamer Farooq here Tuesday.
The petitioner took the plea that according to notification of government of Pakistan only the foreigners residing in Pakistan illegally have been asked to return. I and my have refugee card while 3 children are minors are studying in school. On October 23 the interior ministry personnel came to our residence and asked us to return to Afghanistan.
The counsel for petitioner said Afghan citizen gave application to interior ministry and SAFRAN on this matter but no action was taken.
He requested the court to prevent the process of harassment by institutions. Government should be restrained from taking any stern action without hearing us.
The court while issuing notice to the respondents sought the reply besides adjourning the hearing.
