Gill ‘isolated’ by party: sources

ISLAMABAD – August 11 (ONLINE) Imprisoned PTI leader Dr. Shehbaz Gill has been ‘isolated’ by the party leadership and workers, sources claimed Thursday.

Gill, who is currently under police’s custody at the Kohsar police station, has been left alone by his family members and his party. Sources privy to matter said that no one during past 48 hours came to attend Gill, and the former PM Imran Khan’s Chief of Staff remains ‘sad’ for being left alone.

Shehbaz Gill is wearing has been wearing same dress for two days, as no one is there to provide him with food and dress.

On the other hand, prominent party leaders are also keeping themselves away from Gill’s statement. Shehbaz Gill was arrested by the Islamabad police on the charges of sedition and inciting the public against state institutions. Gill had given a controversial statement regarding country’s army.

Senior PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry said on Wednesday that Gill’s narrative was “not the party’s stance” and added that “every person has their own opinion”.

Talking to a private news channel, Fawad however said “Shahbaz Gill should be forgiven after withdrawing his statement”.

PTI’s secretary general Asad Umar had also given a similar statement regarding Gill’s arrest. Asad Umar had said on Wednesday that if Shahbaz Gill said something wrong then file a case and ask for an explanation.

Addressing a press conference, he said that an attempt is being made to create a narrative that the biggest party is a threat to the country.
