Gas overbilling to citizen: SC dismisses SNGPL appeal plea

ISLAMABAD, June 03 (Online): Supreme Court (SC) has dismissed the appeal plea of Sui Northern (SNGPL) appeal against high court decision in the matter of charging excess gas bill to citizen.

Justice Irfan Saadat has remarked if there is no special ground then tell us general ground. Bill of Rs 8 lac 48 thousands was sent to a citizen. Can such huge bill come in respect of a common man. Even no company will have used such quantity of gas.

He gave these remarks on Monday.

A 3-member bench of SC presided over by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Qazi Faez Isa heard the case Monday.

The court became annoyed over lack of preparation of case by counsel of SNGPL.

The CJP remarked Wakil Sahb, no reasons for filing case have been written. The reason for filing the case in SC is required to be written.

Justice Irfan Saadat remarked if there is no specific ground then tell us general ground. A common man was sent gas bill to the tune of Rs 8 lac 84 thousands. Can such huge bill come to a common citizen. No company will have used such gas.
