ISLAMABAD, Oct 26 (Online): All the accused nominated in Railway land reference filed by NAB against former railway minister Javed Ashraf Qazi and others have challenged the reference in Accountability Court (AC) led by Judge Asghar Ali under NAB amendment ordinance.
The court issued notice to NAB on the accused persons acquittal pleas under NAB ordinance and sought reply till November 08.
All the accused including former railway minister Javed Ashraf Qazi, former chairman Railway board Saeed ul Zafar, former GM Railway Hamid Hassan, Khurshid Ahmad, Akhtar Ali, Abdul Ghaffar and others have filed acquittal pleas under NAB amendment ordinance.
They have prayed in their acquittal plea that the jurisdiction of the AC stands abolished following the promulgation of NAB amendment ordinance. Therefore, they be acquitted.
The hearing of the reference was adjourned till November 8.
