Former governor Punjab plea for provision of facilities in jail: Court orders to decide plea within 3 days

LAHORE, June 12 (Online): Lahore High Court (LHC) has ordered additional chief secretary home Punjab to decide within three days about the pending application of former governor Punjab Umar Sarfaraz Cheema regarding provision of facilities in jail.

A two members bench of LHC presided over by Justice Ali Baqir Najfi took up for hearing petition filed by Rabia Sultan, wife of former governor Punjab Monday.

The petitioner had challenged government step for not providing facilities to her husband Umar Sarfaraz Cheema.

Additional advocate general Ghulam Sarwar raised objection over the petition during the hearing and told that Umar Sarfaraz Cheema petition regarding provision of facilities in jail is pending with additional home secretary. Therefore, additional home secretary be given order to give decision on pending application.

It was requested in the petition that Umar Sarfaraz Cheema is former governor therefore; he should be given B class in jail.
