FIA notice: Umar Ayoub Khan seeks copy of Hamood ur Rehman Commission report

ISAMABAD, June 05 (Online): Opposition Leader in National Assembly (NA) Umar Ayoub has sent notice to FIA in reply to its notice on summoning him in the matter of controversial tweet.

Umar Ayub Khan sought copy of Hamood ur Rehman Commission report from FIA in response to its notice.

He also announced to take up FIA notice matter in parliament besides challenging it in the court.
Umar Ayub sent reply to notice of FIA through Babar Awan advocate.

He said in the reply that FIA sent an insulting notice whereby ambiguous, vague and illegal questions were asked. Notice is linked to the incidents of fall of Dhakka.. Upon it government of Pakistan constituted commission. This commission filed interim report in 1972 and full report in 1074 to the state. It was neither rejected nor were its contents refuted.

The commission in its final report recorded statements of Gen Amir Abdullah Khan Niazi who had surrendered. These statements were made part of report.

The counsels for Umar Ayub Khan have written in reply that FIA is neither a departments comprising historians nor is it an institution above two high courts or Supreme Court. The only motive of this notice is subjecting Imran Khan and Umar Ayub Khan to victimization. FIA should provide copy of Hamood ur Rehman Commission report to prepare the reply.
