ISLAMABAD – November 6 (ONLINE) The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has been empowered to act against PTI Chairman Imran Khan and other senior party leadership for allegedly ‘inciting people against state institutions’.
According to a media report, the government has enabled FIA to act under Pakistan Penal Code’s (PPC) Section 505 to act against senior PTI leadership for urging and inciting people against state institutions.
The FIA after a recent legal amendment was enabled to act against anyone who incites people against state through social media or by any other tools.
It is pertinent to mention here that country’s military had also requested government to take action against Imran and his close aids for their disputed statements and baseless allegations against important military personnel.
Earlier, sources in FIA had rebutted receiving any formal request of reference by the federal government to take action against former Prime Minister Imran Khan.
