ISLAMABAD, May 11 (Online): Federal cabinet has accorded approval to Toshakhana Bill 2023.
According to cabinet sources Toshakhana bill has been approved through circulation summary. It will now be presented in the parliament for formal approval.
As per sources Pakistani rulers, ministers and members of parliament will be required to make public all the gifts they receive and it will be mandatory for them to deposit these gifts to Toshakhana under the proposed bill.
The set procedure will be adopted to purchase any gift from Toshakhana. However there will be ban on selling this gift.
It will be binding on the federal government to implement toshakhana policy and rules and regulations in this regard.
