FBR declares essential to install point of sale system for dozens of businesses

ISLAMABAD, March 23 (Online): Federal government has declared essential to install point of sale system for dozens of businesses all over the country. FBR has made ;point of sale system mandatory for private schools, hospitals, retailers, hotels, fitness centers and other dozens of businesses from July 01, 2024.

FBR has issued SRO No 428(1)/2024 in this regard. Under it the business institutions will have to install soft ware and hard ware duly approved by FBR in connection with ;point of sale system. FBR has asked the vendors selling such devices to apply for acquisition of licenses. It has been said that dozens of professional service providers, health care providers including manufacturers cum retailers , whole sale retailers and import cum retailers have been integrated in the list of these businesses where point of sale is mandatory.

FBR has directed foreign exchange companies, clubs, private educational institutions, private hospitals, restaurants. hotels, guest houses, marriage halls, courier services, beauty parlors, medical services, laboratories, chartered accountants and retailers to install point of sale on their installations .It will be connected with FBR system.
