FBR confirms blockage of 11,252 Sims of non-filers

Islamabad (PNI) The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has blocked 11,252 SIMs of non-filers and stated that the process is ongoing.
Initially, there was a dispute between the FBR and cellular mobile operators (CMOs), with the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) also opposing the FBR’s action. However, the PTA later chose not to take a stance on the issue.

An FBR spokesperson announced on Thursday that as of May 22, 2024, the FBR had blocked 11,252 SIMs of non-filers.

In other news, FBR Chairman Malik Amjed Zubair inaugurated the new Regional Tax Office building in Islamabad. At the ceremony, he highlighted that the new facility is equipped with modern technology to improve taxpayer services and streamline tax collection processes. He stressed the importance of maximizing revenue collection during these challenging economic times and urged officers to maintain high standards of integrity and professional commitment.

The chairman praised FBR Member Admin/HR and Chief Projects and their teams for completing the project and thanked Pak PWD and other stakeholders for their support.
