FBISE to arrange Pakistan Mathematics, Informatics Olympiad

ISLAMABAD, Jul 15 (APP):Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE) has planned to hold the Pakistan Mathematics and Informatics Olympiad (PMIO) to instill passion for mathematics and computer science among the students.
Following the directions of Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training, the olympiad is being organized to foster a passion for mathematics and computer science among high school students (grades 9 to 12) across the country, adhering to international standards in the domains of syllabus, conduct of exams and assessment.

The contest will be open to all eligible students under age 20, with the competition featuring multiple-choice and open-ended questions for mathematics, and online/on-site competitive programming platforms for computer science.
The registration will take place annually in September with nominal fee of Rs.1000 per student, targeting wide participation with a goal to attract 10000 students this year and reach the target of 100,000 students in future years.

The event, to be held annually in mid-October, will offer gold, silver, and bronze medals along with laptops, chromebooks and cash awards etc. to the distinguished students of the contests.
The top performers will have the opportunity to secure admissions in the top ranking universities of Pakistan.

This initiative is aimed at cultivating a new generation of mathematicians, computer experts, and programmers to boost Pakistan’s academic and global competitiveness.
