Rawalpindi – Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry on Wednesday said that the business of Information Technology industry in Pakistan had been damaged seriously by decisions of courts in 2014. He said while addressing an international media workshop at Fatima Jinnah Women University.
He added the erroneous verdicts of judiciary have not only destroyed the IT industry in Pakistan but also worsened our relations with IT companies on international level. Moreover, he said, the state policies also worked as fuel on fire in this regard. “I advise judges not to hear cases pertaining to technology matters,” said Federal Minister for Science and Technology. He said previous verdicts of courts, particularly those in 2014, had dented Pakistan’s relations with digital and technology companies and hindered the progress of the industry in Pakistan.
“IT companies should be invited by the government for the training and skills development of Pakistani students in colleges and universities,” he said.
